Grandma comes to WORK

Elspeth wants to play in her backyard, we need someone strong and silent.
Ella thinks Grandma fits the bill :)

BEFORE

Looking North from the patio, nothing has ever grown there, and it looks neglected and lonesome.

AFTER

Mommy hauled in 700 lbs of gravel, 240 lbs of top soil, 200 lbs of manure, a REALLY heavy bag of peat moss, and 14 bags of mulch. Grandma dug up innumerable hostas and trenches for landscaping effects.

The result is a shade garden, a raised herb bed, and a gravel play area for Elspeth Paige (she now loves the gravel as much as the sandbox).

BEFORE

The Northwest corner of the yard has been ignored for approximately our entire occupation of the house. We found a lot of brick when we started digging, and that was the beginning of an idea that became . . . . . .

AFTER

A lovely curved bed that houses some bushes that were poorly placed against the house. This leads up to Ella's favorite spot in the yard, the gravel walk-way that houses her turtle sandbox.
